Jean-Pierre was born and educated in the French part of Switzerland where he completed art school in Geneva . He is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, German and Italian.  Jean-Pierre owned a gallery and art studio for many years in Carmel .

In 1989 he was faced with a life threatening illness. This challenge caused him to asses his life both personal and professional. A new direction was born from this experience. Through this transformation, he expanded his work into the healing arts, becoming a Massage Therapist, Watsu Practitioner (Shiastu in Water) and he taught art therapy to physically challenged people.

His passion for Watsu has lead Jean-Pierre on a quest to find hot springs where he can practice this healing art. In the waters at Esalen and Tassajara in California , Yverdon la Bain in Switzerland and Maminia in the high mountains of Chile many have received this healing experience from Jean-Pierre.

Jean-Pierre has also taught a class in Alchemy and Transformation at the Esalen Institute.

Inspired by the concept of the “Art Barn” at Esalen, Jean-Pierre fulfilled his long time dream and built a beautiful outdoor studio in the tropical setting of Sanctuario das Borboletas.

His dream continues with his desire to share his studio for sculpting and painting with other creative individuals.
